I’ve never taken any sort of formal typing class, just the ones you find online, and I’m not disparaging those that have and probably know a great deal more about proper typing than I do. I know that double spacing is some sort of controversy, and it really doesn’t bother me, but I have to admit it threw me for a loop. It’s your basic, five minute, old fashioned, 1990’s type of test, which is fine if that’s your thing, but I personally find that having to to look up and down every few words is annoying and can be a detriment to your total score. There is nothing to indicate where you are in the text. Extra spaces anywhere are counted as errors as well, and sometimes the screen won’t advance as you finish typing. You HAVE to double space after each sentence, or you’ll be deducted one error. Anyhow, there are two windows on the screen, the blank one where you type your test and and text that you’ll be typing in the window below., so you’ll have to look up and down a lot. Another was applying for a job and calling his mom for information on his cellphone. While being quiet is usually the standard while testing it isn’t enforced at all, when I tested there was a guy calling his friends while his girlfriend and the rest of us were testing. You get two tries per test, which will be taken in a common room with other people who may be applying for jobs, which is fine of course, unless they have their kids with them or buddies, or significant others. 00 and can only be paid in cash so I can’t attest to how good they are at actually getting someone a job. I’m giving this place three stars based on the typing tests, two for the format and one for the sweet girl upfront that had to hold down an insanely busy, depressing looking office on her own while her her rude boss just took up space.
